Bangkok (TH)
Rung Rueang is an open-air pork noodle shop a short walk down Soi Sukhumvit 26, popular with office workers and visitors staying around Phrom Phong. You pick your noodle, then choose a clear broth or a tom yum version sharpened with lime, chilli and ground peanuts.
It has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand for years and keeps it in the 2026 guide, which praises its minced pork in a comforting soup. Bowls arrive quickly. Note that a similarly named shop sits across the lane; this one is on the left as you walk in from Sukhumvit Road.
What to order
- Pork noodles in tom yum broth: hot, sour and nutty, the most popular choice
- Pork noodles in clear broth: lighter, letting the minced pork and pork balls shine
- Fish balls and pork balls: bouncy house-made balls that come in the bowl
- Blanched pork intestines: a side the Michelin inspectors specifically recommend
Good to know
- Lunchtime queues are long, so go mid-morning or after 14:00.
- Cash only; bowls are cheap enough to order two different broths.
- From BTS Phrom Phong, walk down Soi 26 and look for the shop on the left, not the namesake opposite.
