Bangkok (TH)
Supanniga Eating Room was founded in 2012 by Thanaruek "Eh" Laoraowirodge to serve the home cooking of his grandmother, Khun Yai Somsri, who was born in the eastern seaside province of Trat and later lived in Khon Kaen. The Tha Tien branch occupies a riverside shophouse near Wat Pho, facing Wat Arun across the Chao Phraya.
The menu leans on seafood and the punchy fish sauces of the east coast, with a few Isaan touches. It is listed in the 2026 Michelin Guide Thailand, and the same group also runs Somtum Der.
What to order
- Fried Chinese cabbage with Trat fish sauce: caramelised, salty and addictive
- Braised pork belly with herbs and cowa leaves: sour, savoury and tender
- Crab and seafood dishes from the east coast menu, best shared
Good to know
- Book a river-facing table for sunset over Wat Arun.
- It pairs well with a morning at Wat Pho or the Grand Palace, both close by.
- Tha Tien pier on the Chao Phraya Express boat line is a short walk away.
