Chatuchak Weekend Market Food Zone
Bangkok's giant weekend market, where snacking between thousands of stalls is as much the point as shopping.

Bangkok (TH)
Chatuchak covers about 35 acres beside Chatuchak Park in north Bangkok and is one of the largest weekend markets in the world. It is split into numbered sections selling clothes, crafts, plants, antiques and pets, and draws well over 100,000 people on a busy weekend.
Food is woven through the whole market: noodle stalls, grilled skewers, coconut ice cream, fresh juices and sit-down shophouse kitchens line the walkways and fill the food courts. Many visitors treat it as a grazing trip. It gets hot and crowded by midday, so the market rewards an early start.
What to order
- Coconut ice cream served in a coconut shell
- Grilled pork skewers (moo ping) with sticky rice
- Pad thai or boat noodles from the walkway stalls
- Fresh fruit shakes and Thai iced tea
Good to know
- Arrive close to 09:00 on Saturday or Sunday to beat the heat and crowds.
- Use BTS Mo Chit or MRT Chatuchak Park or Kamphaeng Phet stations.
- Carry small notes; many food stalls take cash only.
- Or Tor Kor Market is across the road if you want a calmer food stop.
